South Lahti regional kitchen
Details
Spatium built a central kitchen in Laune for Lahden Ateria, completed at the end of 2016. The kitchen prepares meals for schools and daycare centers in South Lahti. At full capacity, the facility can produce over 10,000 meals per day.
The central kitchen has been designed with a strong emphasis on energy efficiency. Heating energy is produced using a hybrid heat pump and district heating. The hybrid heat pump generates heat from the building’s refrigeration and cooling systems.
In addition, a 100 m² solar panel system generates 11 MWh of electricity annually for use in the property. The hybrid heat pump and solar panels reduce the need for district heating by 35% compared to a standard solution.
